I spotted a rare Ficus Felineus Churchicus one day. Usually considered to be "sucker branches" they like to grow close to the base of the plant and suck nutrients out of the soil, depleting the sources usually reserved for this common houseplant.

Yes! I grew a very successful one of these in a tub a few years back.
I have also had quite a bit of success with planting directly into the ground.
Yours is a very fine example.
I have one also but, for some reason, I can't find it on my computer. I must say, though, these are some of the cutest pix I've ever seen!![]()

It must be something with the soil in the pot. This is the same pot that the first post had growing the black kitty. Now look what it grew:
