I just wish the baby's fundraising could be contingent on getting the mama cat spayed. I'm glad they're not automatically putting the baby down, though.

OH my goodness!! That little guy is so adorable. And he's just like any kitten, playing and running around. I just love the stripes.
I hope he is able to get surgery and everything goes well.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Foundation Formed To Help Six-Legged Kitten

MIRAMAR, Fla. - A plea for help to save the life of a kitten born with six legs has been answered.

Veterinarians said the kitten, named Hex, was supposed to be a twin, but half of his brother was born connected to him. In order to save him, he would need an operation.

To help raise money for the operation, a non-profit fund has been set up in Hex's name.

If you'd like to make a donation to the Hex Foundation, please send a check or money order to: Hex Foundation, 4281 S.W. 139th Avenue. Miramar, FL 33027 or call 954-443-1099.

Thank you for this, Candace. You are so helpful to everyone here on PT. Personally, I don't know what we'd do w/out you. As I mentioned previously, I've got financial issues at the moment but a few more dollars to donate to this sweetheart isn't going to make much difference in my finances at this point. Thanx again, girlfriend. I wish he had a different name, though.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Thanks, Mary - I am a research addict! lol

The kitten has been referred to as a "she" and a "he" - but I guess if the two legs and tummy belong to a "twin brother", Hex would have to be a "he".

Hex is short for Hexagon...but once he has only "four sides", maybe "Quattro" or "Cattro"?

I can't find ANY info on the fund raising so far.

And I can't donate at all this month...maybe by May 7 (for Jen too).

Hex is so adorable! I pray the family raises the money to get him the surgery he needs. He seems that it does not bother him one bit though! He sure looks like a happy kitty!!

Absolutely in agreement on that one! Haven't seen *peep* about mom cat being spaying, and if she produced one kitten that is that special needs, chances are that the same tom cat's there to produce the next.
My second beef is why is this kitten dragging it's extra parts all over the streets? Must be something in the environment to create such mutations me thinks.
