Dylan was just about to nail me with a snowball lol!

    Being goofy at the park

Here Kai is tackling me while Dylan gets ready to cover me in ice. Silly boys! It's so funny watching them together now that Kai is a little older. He wants to constantly play with his big brother and bounce with him on the couch and bed, wrestling. Total boys!

    Cute wittle snow bear

We made this little snowman for Kai.

I'm so glad everything is ok and none of your were hurt! I know it's hard to think in a situation like that but in the future PLEASE call 911 FIRST ... before a BF or roommate! Also, it would be best to go outside (even in the cold) than to possibly trap yourselves in a bedroom. Even if the flames didn't reach you, the smoke can be deadly! Just a concerned "mom" talking here!

All the snow pictures are precious! I'm glad you all had such a fun time!

    Consider that seconded!

I was wondering why there are no battery operated smokes in the apartment? here, apartments have to have both hard wired (connected to the electrical system) and battery operated. Usually ONE SET will function! The landlords come through once or twice a year to replace the batteries in those; and the electrical ones have to be tested yearly.

HUGE 2nd! You got lucky this time that no one was hurt.

We're required by the Building Code to have battery smoke detectors in at least two rooms of our small apartments. I have three and change the batteries when we change our clocks.

We have two smoke detectors. Both run on batteries. They are both still running, as the light is still blinking, so I'm not sure why they didn't go off. I'm going to see if the landlord can put in new ones. It just doesn't make sense that they didn't go off...

I had to take Kai in the room while I went out into the living room as he was naked (having just got out of the bath) so I couldn't take him outside right away. I had to make sure he was dressed. We got out pretty fast though. Whenever I'm in an emergency I never call 911 first. I don't know why...I just immediately think of family or roomate or significant other to call. I really need to get my head straight! Lets just say it's one of the stupider things I do. I think it has to do with the fact that I should try to fix it myself before I let others fix it for me. It comes from my mother. Luckily here, even if the house was ablaze we couldn't get stuck. There are just too many ways to get out. Once I move into a bigger place (I feel like I live in a closet) I'll be making a disaster plan, in case of fire or anything else.

As far as the weather goes, I'm pretty sure it will snow again tonight. It's been hailing all day today and the clouds look black. I'm not used to it being this dark this early, but the clouds are blocking the sun. So, maybe we'll have snow again tomorrow.

I really hope the maintenance person comes tomorrow at 9, because I'm craving a nice hot bath!

That's a great idea!!! How often do you change them?

    when we change our clocks.
How often do you change them?
Twice a year - when the clock moves ahead one hour in the spring, and back one hour in the fall.
