I've Been Frosted
Just like Karen posted, my sister and her husband were the first ones on the scene of the accident. It was pretty traumatic for my sister and I was sharing the incident with others here. I've lived in this town all my life, and knew thatI recognized the name involved. I believe my younger brother may have gone to school with SMJr as well. There was no malice intended. I was just sharing how my family was affected by the incident.
Oh that is terrible
I witnessed an accident when I was just a little girl and it has stuck with me all these years and I will NEVER get on a motorcycle.
they make passengers in cars wear seatbelts but allow people on motorcycles to choose not to wear a helmet. I don't get it.
Unfortunately it is not always the irresponsible ones that get in wrecks. My brother had a bike for years and would go out cruising with a group of his friends every once in a while. they were always very responsible riders... they had wives and children to think about. Unfortunately three of his friends have since passed on in accidents involving cars that weren't paying attention and didn't see them.
My brother has since gotten rid of his bike. he has a wife and four children and after so many of his friends dying he just didn't want to risk it anymore![]()
R.I.P my dear Sweet Teddy. You will be missed forever. We love you.

I dated someone with a bike years ago when I was young. He told me that there's a saying amongst bikers that says"There are two kinds of bikers. One that's gone down and one that's going to." I wonder what the statistics are? I imagine there are many that have "gone down" and survived with minor or less injuries. It's the price you pay doing something you love I guess.
Well, the stats on MC accidents don't tell you the tidbits like speed, alcohol, and circumstances.
I have heard of bikers stopped at an intersection and killed when they are rear ended or an accident happens in the cross traffic and an out-of-control car hits them. They are not involved in the initial accident, but in the wrong place.
There are speeding accidents, getting cut off, hitting oil or sand in a lane and losing control. The stats that an insurance company reports are as varied as a parked bike getting hit by a car to a guy doing wheelies on the freeway, falling and getting run over.
If you ride like an idiot or stupidly your chances of crashing go up. If you ride safely you can count on someone else driving stupidly.

The Speed CHannel promotes a show called Superbikers! The host has a traveling circus that does wheelies, front wheelies, standing on the tank while riding, sitting on the tank with their legs draped over the handlebars and pulling a wheelie....
The disclaimer at the beginning of the program is the usual disclaimer- stunts are done by pros, don't send us a tape of you doing stunts, and ride safely.
The kid fresh off of a 250 dirtbike that wheelies all over the place buys a 750/1000 cc bike and kills himself two blocks away from the dealership because he doesn't have the brains, talent or intelligence to realize he's not riding a dirt bike.![]()
If you walk, one day you will slip or fall.
