I've never met one personally, but I've always loved the breed.

    Blue Lacy

Not sure what this particular lacy is mixed with, so I can only speak concerning my experience with lacys'. First lacys' are working dogs and have a very high energy level. Lacys' are extremely smart however you have to learn how to tell them what you want and develop the communication with them. As long as I'm smart enough to tell mine what I want he will do it. Mine will do anything in the world for me. He is great with kids however, I'm constantly telling him to slow down and watch out when my nephews are over. He wouldn't ever intentionally hurt them but he moves so quick that bumping or running over them would unintentionally hurt them. He plays keep away with the nephews, Ironically this works out to my benefit because it tires him and them out .

A Lacy is a working dog, and should have plenty of room to run and expend energy. Originally breed from a Coyote, Greyhound, and Scent hound in the Hill Country of Texas. I can put mine up for 5 minutes and he is ready to go again for 30-60 minutes non stop. I haven't ever clocked him but short distances he will run every bit of 35 mph if not more.

*Depending upon the cross/mix there could be some serious or slight variances in character.*
