I grew up on YA Vamp books, so I'm checking this out from the library.

Did you read Peeps by Scott Westerfeld, or Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz yet?? Peeps is really good... bloody, but good. Blue Bloods I really liked as well, and am waiting for some extra cash to buy the sequel, Masquerade.

And Amy, I totally understand what you mean... I mean, everyone has different taste, and they are YA books, so they really can't get toooo graphic (at least shouldn't). Maybe that's why I was so impatient, lol. They're quick reads, even though they are long, and they really aren't super challenging on the vocabulary front, but they are addictive, lol!

Scott Westerfeld also has other series out called The Midnighters and Uglies (followed by Pretties, and Specials)with is SciFi as well. There's also another series out called The Wereling by Stephen Cole, who is 37. I have all of these at school actually.

For girlie novels, I love Meg Cabot's books (NOT the Princess book.. they make me puke), and Sarah Dessen . She is an amazing YA writer for girls.

has anyone read the young adult series by James Patterson.
the Maximum Ride series? I read the adult books introducing them but I just found out recently he wrote a YA series with the Flock.

Well, I got Twilight from the library and I tore through it in only a couple of days. Could not put the darn thing down. It'd be 4 a.m. and I'd have to force myself to stop reading. *laughs* New Moon is enroute.

Was curious if they were going to make a movie out of this. Will be following that closely.

BTW... are their spoilers in this thread for New Moon and Eclipse? I don't want to be spoiled...perhaps other threads could be made for discussion of those books?
