He's pretty! If they don't stop constantly flaring, I would either place a tall plant in that area, or even double up on the divider to make it harder to see through.

I make up excuses like that for getting new Bettas, too... we have the same way of rationalizing our addictions. In fact, I have a WHOLE divided 10 gallon open now. I really need 4 Bettas to fill it. And I might as well divide my spare 10 gallon, just for fun. hehe.
