What advantage do you get for leaving the top off the oil tank?
I know it's a safety issue, but can't they be a little more specific
as to why they are penalizing drivers/teams?

I think I saw a mention that it was a major Performance Advantage -
like a 25 - 50 horsepower BOOST to the car.
Same article said you could SEE the uncovered tank in an in-car camera shot -
can't say *I* noticed it; but I have no clue what I'm looking for, either.
As with other NASCAR "Rules" ... this one is a mystery to me.
