That is a very sweet poem Val. I decided some time ago that my next dog will come from a shelter and be a senior.

angel duke, a well loved and missed dog was my senior golden when he moved in with with me in 2002. he was a blessing and a total joy. i still smile and still get teary eyed sometimes when i think of him. i would take another senior dog into my life and home in a minute.
joyce who has princess peanut, spokesdog for the catpack, mojo, magic, kira and squirty, members of the catpack, angel duke, a good dog who is missed and angel alex the wonder dog, handsome prince.
Love the poem, Val. I was going to say exactly what Pam said. I have also decided that my next dog is going to be a senior rescue. But what I also like (for lack of a better word) about this poem is that it points out that it isn't just older dogs and cats that are getting turned in. It makes me think that even if I am not sure about a second dog, maybe I can look into an older small animal. Thanks Val.
Beautiful.
