Shortie Girl has one of "THOSE" claws that is really thick and difficult to clip. I use regular toe nail clippers and I clip it sideways because of it's thickness.

If your cat's nail is in the pad, you're gonna need to sets of hands to deal with it. Have one person totally hold her still then clip it. If it's imbedded into her pad, take a cottonball with hydrogen peroxide and dab it to stop the bleeding. If it's too bad, you may have to take her to the vet. Wish I was there, girl. I'd help ya out.
