I have to commute along the Nimitz Freeway (also known as I-880) to go to Candide rehearsals, and the joke around here is that if Admiral Nimitz had known that road would be named for him, he would have surrendered to the Japanese. I'm sure he's glad to have such a handsome and vigilant namesake.
