We got a king sized bed just so WE could get some room in THEIR bed!

Many nights, I wake up hot as can be, only to find my legs have been completely covered in two or three cats. I have to gingerly pry my legs out from underneath without waking them up

My bedroom is a dog free zone (via a baby gate) where the cats can go to get away from the dogs. Oliver especially likes his peace and quiet and is found daily napping on our bed. The other cats are on our bed less often during the day, but they always have the option. At night we usually have at least Kitten and Turtle in the bed with us, often more.

The dogs each have their own bed and we have some "community" beds as well. The only time any of the dogs are allowed in our bed is when there is a thunderstorm during the night. Nova and Charlie are both terrified of storms so we allow them to come in.

When I get settled and turn out the lights, there are 3 dogs and 2 cats on the bed. But when I wake up cramped and have to turn on the light about 3 AM to see who has to s hift so I can strech my legs, there re usually 3 dogs and 5 cats! The cats come and go all night long. The dogs can't get up on their own. Two of them will jump down (not supposed to). If they need to get up again, they wake me up for a lift. I can do it without coming fully awake!

Just last night for the first time, I woke to Chaplin on the bed nibbling and puncing on my toes! He is about 5 months, and doesn't come up often. So I had to wigle the toes and play with him for a while before settling back to sleep.

Sharing the bed is the only way to go, if room is allowed. I don't care about dog hairs at all. Of course, I've only got one dog. He does contribute a decent amount of hair. Having that multiplied a few times, I might say no to all but not to some.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Sierra always starts out on the bed with me. Then the hubby comes to bed and she either jumps off or curls up in the crook of my legs if it's a chilly night. She's a GREAT foot warmer!!

There is a dog bed right next to my side of the bed she sleeps on a lot.
Buddy paces all night long, he doesn't sleep much.
When my hubby worked out of town the 3 of us slept in the bed all night long. That's when I found out what a BED HOG Sierra is!

Well, my cat's an indoor/ outdoor cat so he sleeps outside. And I don't think it would be comfort able to sleep with a 21 inch long bearded dragon ((on one at all for that matter lol)) and I wouldn't want to smoosh the hermies!!

However, I don't think I voted because if I dog sit they usually sleep with me

I hate falling asleep without my chunk of a dog right beside me.

The day after I voted "no," Smudge discovered the joys of sleeping on my bed! So now he's my sleeping companion and occasional toe-washer at night. He doesn't sleep there unless I'm there, though, except very occasionally. Mostly he sleeps in a basket or box. I'm hoping he'll rediscover his "magic chair" (pressure-activated warming pad under a blanky on the chair) again for the winter soon.

I don't remember what I voted, since each cat is different. Sam sleeps on the bed and considers it his bed. Spunky is not a bed person unless it is during the day. Spunky sleeps with me on the couch or annoys me while at the computer.

    Neither are under-the-sheet cuddlers.

  10. When my bro an i were little,, we used to sleep with our dogs an i noticed that Tasha seemed to leave a grimy like feeling behind on my sheets. it so drove me up the wall. so i never allowed any dogs after Tasha passed on in or on my bed since than. unless its just for pictures.

It varies in our household. The cats have their own room that they sleep in at night (husband is allergic) and the dogs are allowed on the bed, but only Chipper seems to take advantage of that. Kia prefers her own bed.

Keep in mind that many pets, numbers-wise, are not dogs or cats. I would be afraid Miss Hoppy would be crushed when I rolled over, and besides, she likes to be hidden under something when she sleeps, so no one can find her.

Our three are allowed on the bed but they rarely sleep on there. They like to hang around on the bed when I'm in my room on the computer. They prefer to sleep in their crates or their own beds.

Very true. The reptiles would never sleep on the bed.
