Barbara, I wish I knew. He lost so much weight after his surgery and never really gained it back. He was still eating and drinking a lot lately. I did notice that he was licking his back. Maybe I was to occupied with personel problems.
The last few days his lower back was contracting like he had trouble breathing. He was suposed to go to the vet on saturday, but died friday night. I gave him a few treats that evening for the first time in a long time which he loved. I was also worried about Auggie that evening, since she was acting strange. She kept looking at me meauwing and running off. I coudn't figure out why she was so scarred. Is it possible that she knew something? Auggie is doing ok now, just more clingy than ever. I won't be going back to the same vet. I pray that Auggie and Schatzie will stay healty and be with me for a long time to come.
