Just keep practicing with your camera, that means more pics! It looks like Ivy and Giselle had a fun day! Btw, the pics are great.

Great job! I think they look good! The picture of the other ex racing greyhound looks exactly like my brothers old greyhound Maddy, that they had to give up cause she bit their son.

I think your pix look good. That first one shows that you were panning because the dog is sharp in focus but the background shows blurred motion, that's a good thing!

As for cutting off the feet...are you using the LCD screen or the viewfinder to take your pix? Sometimes the LCD screen can have a slight 'delay' between what's actually there and add to that the shutter delay and it can cause things like that.

GREAT second shot of the dog digging. Love that sand flying out behind him!

Thanks! I'm really trying not to take any more 'panning with objects' because that's easy enough. What's difficult is actually freezing the action, and that's what I'm really aiming for.

No, I can't use the LCD screen to shoot pictures. Giselle was just too close. She always moves in on me when I take pictures.

If freezing the action is what you're looking for then you'll need a faster shutter speed to eliminate the leg blur (the way you did with the digging shots).

If you can't actually up the shutter speed without sacrificing your depth of field then try upping the ISO instead.

Good luck, can't wait to see more pix!
