I've seen hugs prolonged hugs that just mean I love you but not in a nasty way, I gave one to my cousin last night because his mom(my aunt) is dying. But then again I was thinking about this and a couple of days ago I was went to walk up the stairs of school and saw a couple. They were wrapped around each other kissing and when they stopped, they just kind of hugged and was basically groping and rubbing each other's butts. I do remember thinking Awww How sweet he's grabbing her a*s because that is just such a romantic thing to do, yep(read this sarcastically please). So I do have to agree with the non hugging in most cases but still I do believe not all prolonged hugs are bad.
