Oh, if you could see the great BIG SMILE on my face right now. I have always loved Emily and Clipse, but now Ramone has really wiggled his way right into my heart too. Looks like I will need a bigger car if I still plan on stealing your pups.

Not going to poo-pooh you at all, Staci. The same thought occurred to me. I remember admiring a gorgeous 11 month old collie, he was a big boy, then his mom told me he was a sheltie.

He was a big handsome sweetie-pie, though.

It very well could have been. Size is still a big problem in shelties. They are supposed to be 13" to 16" tall at the withers. Anything more or less is a disqualification.

To many people size is the only difference between shelties and collies, but there are other structural differences as well. The most noticeable is their head. Shelties have a very pronounced stop whereas collies don't.... but in saying that... I've seen many a collie looking sheltie before.

I groom a sheltie that makes my giant shelties seem like they are the proper size. He is very collie looking in the face. Confused yet? lol
