Nope, there are no "no-kill" shelters close. They are all about 100 miles away. I talked to a golden rescue group & they said to take him to the animal shelter. That way if the owners are looking, they would have a much better chance of finding him. There is a shelter that has a drop off in the next county (only about 10 miles away). So I think we are going to take him down there tonight
I guess this would be best, if we were looking for our dogs & someone had dropped them off at the shelter it would be easier for us to find them there than if someone had them at their house, right? I just feel so bad about doing it though.
If we have him in the kennel, the dogs keep fighting through the fence. Even Huney & Roxey get in on it now. It's just not a good situation with him here. I'm afraid the police will be called because of the noise.
I will call the shelter Tuesday & see what is going on with him. I just don't want him to be put to sleep, he is such a fun guy. He loves to play ball (surprise, right ) I don't think he's used to being in the house, the first thing he did was pee on my chair
Anna, I wish you did live close enough, he's such a sweetheart.
I'll keep you all informed on what happens with the guy.
For now, we're going to keep the little guy. Maybe we can find him a good home. I think I'll let the shelters know we have him. That way if anyone is looking, they can contact us.
Thanks for the input.
Anna
