I was hoping you would post an update, Collin. I'm sorry I even had to ask.
But if your mom's friend took her to her vet - and she used to be a vet - I guess that's the best you can do.

I have been informed extensively of Collin's 'situation', and have heard the most extraordinary reasons behind not being able to do this/that/the other, and it just seems that his savings of 1 penny (yes, you read that right) and his home being completely isolated for miles and miles, yet still contained within a small town, he just cannot get that doggie to a vet.
But it's OK, because daddy's getting him a shiny new dell computer for Christmas!
So, we can all relax now.

How old are you Collin? Just curious.
Collin is 13.

Collin claims to be a 13 yr old who apparently has the following attributes or characteristics:Originally Posted by sasvermont

2. Not hesitant to buy off of Ebay.
3. Confident enough of his computer knowledge to be willing to trouble shoot an adult's computer problems. Hint to Collin: You're not there yet.
4. Can post on the Internet from 4PM past midnight, and be fresh and ready for the next day. I needed 10 hrs of sleep when I was that age.
5. Able to keep chilled, while causing the adults he is conversing with to bounce off the walls. Not bad technique for a supposive 13 yr old(?).
Typical Reggie post one every other month or so in frequency:
1. Symptoms are usually serious (latest episode suggests a kidney stone or the like). The dog's symptoms usually indicate the dog is suffering more than just a little.
2. There is always the theme of asking what can be done, with the caveat the family is broke, and can not afford a Vet.
3. Almost an anticipation of the possible responses with most well thought out, but a few responses with well designed holes in the logic so as to provoke more discussion down a blind alley.
Over all the monthly or bi-monthly Reggie is sick again post does offer the forum a chance to discuss the health issue brought up, or learn about a topic that might affect one's own dog(s) in the future. From that perspective the Reggie is sick again post can be self-educational once you get past the emotional set up of the post.IMO I find the Reggie is sick again posts less annoying than posts of people wanting to know how to breed dogs for the fun of it after the fact. Thank goodness Reggie is a male!

Guys...
I think we should stop posting
I agree with most of you.. but you guys know the more we reply the more power it give him.
Makes him feel hm... what's the right word... POWERFUL that he can tick us all off.
It's clear this child has some growing up to do, nevermind the parents.
When he is older, he will look back and wish he had done the right thing for Reggie: rehome her.
