Hey Donna go to the internet & type in Pet Finder.. Then for pet selection of small animals or I think you can type in Rat.. Then put in you zip code & all the babies up for adoption will be listed.. This is a great & trusting web site of all the rescues & babies out there needing homes.. Or you could go to your nearest Pet Store.. Good Luck & let us know ok..

spaying a female rat is a very big risk so I doubt there will be any spayed females available. You could consider spaying your guy or just get another male....

I was going to suggest maybe have Winkie neautered, You will find it very hard to find a spayed girl its normally the boys that get done because its less risky.

How long has he been alone? Male rats can be harder to introduce to each other, I found that out

Ive been told that getting 2 babies sometimes helps with the introductions that way the babies can play with each other rather than bugging the older rat to play.

www.fancy-rats.co.uk is my rat bible, so many people on there and they are truely dedicated rat owners they helped me so much. I think the forum is down for a while but it will be up and running soon.

If you want a female then maybe neutering your boy would be best although if you got a girl and got her spayed then you would be lowering her chances of getting mammory (sp?) tumours. Good luck with what ever you decide. My 'rat Bible' (stealing your word muddy4paws) is www.goosemoose.com

Winkie has been with me for almost a year. I rescued him from Petco when they were gonna sell him as a feeder. I was appalled. I brought him home and I adore him!!

I just thought he might be lonely. I try to let him run around all I can when I'm home. His *ahem* testicles are quite large and I thought about having him neutered. But since his life span is so short I figured why bother.

I'd LOOOOOOVE a couple of baldies. I have a thing for pets without fur.

Yep its becoming more popular especially with the health benefits!

Well try finding some young nekkid rats then! What I would do for another rat...a hairless rat. *dreams*
