The Yellow, Red and White cables make up a set of "Composit" cables -Originally Posted by moosmom
there is NO "Black Cable" used with those three cables.
IF your TV has a jack marked "S-Video" - then you connect the S-Video plug between the TV and the DVD; UNPLUG the YELLOW cable at each end;
and use the Red & White cables to connect the audio.
(The S-Video cable MAY be colored black - but it has an "odd" connector that
will ONLY fit in a companion S connector.)
No matter which cable set you use - the TV MUST be set to "look" at the rear panel connections - rather than your antenna or cable ...
The TV could call the setting any one of several things:
* Video
* Video 1 or 2
* External Source
* maybe it's that button you pushed "DVD/VCR" - was that on the TV??
You do NOT want the TV to be set to ANY numbered TV channel.
If you can view a .PDF File - look at >>>
http://www.apexdigitalinc.com/manual...PGUIDE_2.1.pdf
It explains most of the common set-ups.
IF your TV HAS the three Jacks - (Yellow/video, Red/audio, and White/audio);
you do NOT need a "video modulator" that they mention.
When all else fails, call the local High School and ask to talk to the Physics Teacher ...
Tell him you need to borrow his TV Wizard Kid - offer cookies & milk.
