But i don't think you should hold them untell at least 1 week
its completly safe to hold baby gerbils, and I have been holding newborn gerbils since I started breeding them 12 years agoits reccomended to wait at least a day or 2 only because the really new borns skin is very thin, but as long as your careful its not an issue.

Cute! I miss gerbils. But I've too many rodents right now to add anymore to the mix. I hold baby mice at day one, so long as the mom isn't stressed-all is well.
