Since 11 of my cats were once ferals, I can appreciate some of the more 'normal' things they do now.

    Shai
Arrived at the age of 7 months. She is a real spitfire, but has settled down and will sit on my lap in the evening. I got her in May of 2003 and it took her 3 years to sit on my lap. She has progressed to sleeping next to my pillow sometimes. And I can touch her head and back, but NOT the tummy or toes. She has finally accepted that the other cats aren't going away. I love to pet her very soft fur.
    Mooch
Arrived the same year as Shai but was about 2 years old. He didn't want to be touched until this year. Now I can brush him-- sometimes. He actually jumps up on the couch to sit next to me. I love to see him groom the other cats.
    BC
Arrived in September of 2002, about 6 months old. She still doesn't want to be touched, but I often see her checking out the livingroom and kitchen. Nancy (pet communicator) says shes quite happy as she is. I'm just happy that she doesn't run from me anymore. She trusts me not to touch her, so I don't; I just talk to her.
    Cali
Was about 7 months old when I trapped her in the Wal-Mart parking lot in February of 2005. She was always afraid to let me pet her until she spent 3 months at the adoption center. When I brought her home again, she was almost like a normal cat. I still can't pick her up, but I can touch her nearly everywhere. She likes to chase my feet under the covers. She also watches TV., with her eyes following the movements. I love to watch her eyes as she's processing new information.
    Mac
Arrived as a 3 or 4 year old in July of 2005. He had been someone's cat one upon a time. I love when he chirps to go outside or to tell me he's out of food. He sleeps next to me and keeps me warm most of the night. He also comes when I call him and chirps a thank you when I let him in. I get a little thrill every time.

The rest of the cats will have to wait for another time. They have all come a long way, in their own ways.

Really had to think about this one............

Knowing that Woe Kitten is a lover and the most accepting boy I have ever met,

Watching my rescues go to forever homes.

Looking at pics of RB IO and knowing he will always be with me.

Being able to watch Lexie grow up, and watching her get her leash and her clothes, playing fetch with her for hours.

seeing my shy kitties gravitate to her so they can learn ppl are ok.

knowing that they enrich me more than I enrich them and they are smart enough to know that.

Watching all the cats break down walls in the kids we took in, just by being cats.

Watching Jupiter try so hard to be a gentleman, and looking into his eyes and knowing he never really meant to hurt me. (plus I love his extra headbumpies)

    Those are my Joys.
Merry Holidays to One an All Blessed be
