Shortstop, sweet, beautiful boy. For many years now I've been posting on the Dog of the Day thread yet my eyes never fail to fill with tears and my heart swell, when a precious Rainbow Bridge furangel such as you is our very special honoree.
I am so moved because I know that your family loved, still loves you as I love and have loved my "kids;" that with your passing comes such heartbreak. For me it has always been a great comfort to know that others understand just how deeply the passing of a furkid is felt and I hope your Mom knows that we all, as dog lovers, share in her loss and smile and laugh at the happy remembrances.
What a wonderful life you were blessed with during your time on this earth Shortstop, and how lucky was your family to have had you as their best friend and beloved companion, to have known your unconditional love those many years. Birthday parties are a big part of our dogs' lives too and I can just picture you in your birthday hat, chowing down on that yummy cake, tearing open your prezzies then snuggling up with your binkie and Mom and Dad, after a long day of celebrating. It's memories such as those, and countless others, that keep us holding on until that happy day when we are reunited with our beloved pups. And I have no doubt that today another party is going on as my Jingles, my Cody, and all of our beloved furangels throw you one blow out bash at the Rainbow Bridge today, celebrating your much deserved day of honor!
.
To the family of Shortstop, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful boy with us, the love you shared, the memories you made. And thank you most of all for giving him the best life a doggie could ever hope for; for sure he left this earth knowing how very loved he was. I hope that seeing him honored here today has added another cherished memory to your family's heart album
