I've always owned a Mac. Had a 5500 Power PC in the 90's, then a Flower Power G3, and now have a MacBook (black) with a core duo processor.

I bought off of Ebay, but I also did a ton of research and also talked with the seller. You get what you pay for on ebay. If you want a reliable laptop, with a good amount of apps on it, as well as a large hard drive and memory to spare, you're not going to get it for $500. I'd be wary if I were you. Shop around and ask the seller questions about the laptop/desktop.

Google would find you a better review than anything I could write!

http://home24.inet.tele.dk/ccadams/se/desc.html This is my first Mac, it's now 20 years old and still works. How many pcs would last 20 years?

You would be extremely lucky to find a decent Mac on eBay for less than $500.

Hi there...with all due respect, I think with this being a Pet forum, you might have gotten almost all the feedback possible.

Re-check the link a few back, or some of the links in the locked thread. A computer forum would give you a lot more options!

    I LOVE Macs...

I've had a MacBook Pro for the last year and a half and I adore it and have had no problems what so ever with it.
