    Sounds like a mess for all concerned. I hope your husband wasn't involved
    in the wreck. Poor chickens.


    p.s. What in the world does this mean ,"articulated lorry" ?

    I think "articulated lorry" describes a vehicle where the cab/tractor bit at the front bolts on to a container at the back, thus enabling the lorry to jackknife and spill its contents all over the road, as opposed to a vehicle where the cab is an integral part of the storage space. Do you follow me?

    It took nine hours, but eventually all chickens were rounded up and all the roads opened again. Sadly, quite a number of chickens were killed in the original accident and the driver has serious back injuries.

    On the plus side, my husband did not encounter any delays on the way in to work. He was lucky just to be on the edge of the jams.
