Cassie

Cassie was my golden retriever I have grown up with for a large part of my life. We sadly had to put her to sleep one year ago after she lived 16 happy years. It's the anniversary, but I still cry my eyes out every time I think about her, because she was so great. I thought she deserved a memorial after all she's done for me and my family.
Cassie was always the "perfect" dog. People knew her for being the ideal dog, because she was just naturally that. She LOVED water, as most retrievers do, and would roll in puddles and beg to dive into my neighbor's pool. She loved to go on walks, but hip problems caused it to be difficult. Cassie was always a people person, jumping up, no matter her condition, to greet a visitor. She was so sweet, and she had a smile that could make anyone else's day. We would dress her up in hats and scarves, and she wouldn't mind it a bit.
I miss Cassie so so so much, and there will never be another dog like her. I know I won't ever forget my first dog, my "sister", and one of my best friends. <3

I am sorry. Cassie was loved for good long time. It's just too bad they can't live as long as we do. It sounds like you have many great memories of her.
Hold on to those forever.

Ten years ago when I was 22 my 14 yr old schnauzer, Scruffy, died. Part of my family was gone. I was absolutely devastated. I cried for weeks. Slowly I realized that he knew he was loved, and he knew that he was part of our family. The pain of missing him was unbearable, but eventually happy memories began to take the place of the pain. He has been gone 10 yrs, but his picture still sits where I can see it everyday. When I look @ it now, I remember all of the good times we had, and how glad I am he blessed my life. I know that I will see him again one day. You will see Cassie again. She knew that she was loved, and was part of your family. She had a long beautiful life, and now she is playing hard @ the RB.

Thank you, everyone! Yeah..it'll take time, but I know she's happier now. Now I can understand and pray for the people who lost their pets... <3 <3 <3
