I decided it may not be the greatest to get Poppy. He would be in the same barn as his old owner and I think it would just make me uncomfortable. She would always be watching me and I think she'd try and control what I do with him and he would just feel less like my own horse.
I'll probly still go see him but tell them I didn't like the way he feels and that I know of another horse.

    okay,
I really like the 10 yr old. Definitely go see him. BUT...maybe check out the 10 yr old first so when you see Poppy you will know whether to tell them maybe or definitely NO.

How would the OLD owner control him?
in on the joke and i cant stop laughing

I was wondering about that myself, if maybe the old owner would try to "help" you with him more than you wanted to try to interfere, not necessairly trying to be rude or mean, but she's loved him so it would be hard to let someone else have full care of him and not have any say. I think it might make me feel uncomfortable too, I dunno though.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

By saying oh well he really likes this, oh you should do this, he needs this etc type things. Pretty much what Vela said.

No that's the other horse, person A's horse.

    oh that would suck.
i'd just say "SHUT UP i don't care what he liked when you were his owner, because he's MINE now!!"

But I still like the 10 yr old :]

Well Poppy is out of the picture. His owner might have to put her other horse down so he is going to go to a new home.

I was also looking at this guy, he's closer to me too. His name is Hugo and his mom has been riding since she was 11 I think and at 18 she got in a car accident and is now in a wheel chair so she can't ride.

    He's a 12 yr old 15hh Draft/Paint.

He is gorgous. I like him. LOL

I'd just do what everyone else is saying...check them both out, take them for a ride, and see which one "handles" better and has the kind of temperment you are looking for.
