Just becareful, she likes to nibble on noses hehehOriginally Posted by Brody's Mum
Her fur is getting longer (finally).. however it feels weird... It kinda feels like many of the hairs on the top of her back, on the last 1/2 of her back are stiffer... If that makes any sence. The first 1/2 of her back is so soft & so his her head... Her sides & legs are fairly rough (no wheres close to soft, but not stiff like the hairs on the lower 1/2 of her spine...
Its kinda neat, cause she feels so different all over hehe
This is the Aussie in her. This is exactly how Zoee's coat feels. The great thing about Aussie fur is if it gets muddy just let it dry and brush her (or not) and she is all clean again. With Zoee having a white chest area I was worried she'd always be dirty looking. Never! She is always bright white.Originally Posted by king2005
Digi is so adorable. I hope she gets better soon. It's not fun being sick.

I don't know much about aussies, as I never thought of owning one (Even a mix), as my prefered breeds are larger breeds & usually shorter haired dogs, like labs, rottweilers, mastiffs, Germans & those kinds of dogs...
Shes crazy smart & I think that might be the german shepherd in her. As sooo many german pups I've seen & met have been really smart from the get go... my old dog wasn't lol he was dumb as a post until he was almost a year old. Then his brain woke up lol He was a lab, Rottweiler & pitty mix.
Mutts are sooo much fun, as you never know what your gonna get & that makes them soooo unique hehe
Digi is really growing! Her fur is growing out too. Looks like a very happy girlie! That is so nice you got a welcome card from Digi's vet. We should start doing that at the clinic I work at. It's a cute lil touch.
Owned by two little pastries!
REST IN PEACE GRACIE. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T MISS YOU.

In answer to the question - Does Zoee make a good winter dog? - Aussie's have double coats, so in that aspect, yes. But with the Aussie hair, unless you take care of it and brush them a lot (which I lack at doing consistently), the hair gets matted, especially around the rear end area and behind the ears.
We use to take her to the groomer every once in a while for a good trim (NOT a shave, no way!!). Now I bought clippers so I can do it at home. We've only done it once and it wasn't bad. But next time I'm going to go shorter.
I think Aussies are smart dogs too. Although, sometimes I think Zoee is an airhead. LOL
I can't wait to see Digi once her hair is all grown back.![]()
