As my vet put it aspirin should only be used short term. Mostly as an emergency situation. Only use until your vet and you can work out a better treatment plan (and make sure to get the directions on using it from your vet based on your dog's breed, weight, past health records, and current physical condition.)
It should also be crushed and administered in liquid so that it'll go right to the bloodstream, and out of the digestive system ASAP.
As always i recommend EVA in the case of arthritis. (If that is what the vet has determined the dog is suffering from.)

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.
