Argranade-- that's why I find it hard to look. I would give anything to own a huge facility for all the homeless to have a forever home.

I haven't been back to the shelter for quite some time....last time I was there I saw a GORGOUS Chow/Boxer mix (had the head of a Boxer, the body of a Boxer, the tail, coloring, and tounge of a Chow) who was being surrendered because, "She's eating my roommate's furniture!"
I suppose no one has ever heard of training. That dog was just so full of spunk and was bouncing around like, "Oh, cool, new place! Let's go explore, mom!"
Since I can't adopt any of the dogs, and since I can't volunteer there, I just choose not to go. Helps keep my heart intact.
I still remember the first time I went there...I was around six years old. There was a Husky/GSD looking thing that kept crying for me and every time I went over to him he was all tail wags and smiles. I cried so hard when we had to leave him behind.

Guess no one told them about Apple bitter or any of the other products. A bit more exercise and like you said, training, would have saved that pup from the shelter. That's why I find it so hard going there, it just crushes me and makes me feel so guity that I can't take them out of their cages and bring them home.
It always hurts when I go to the humane shelters around here. I've not had the chance to go to any recently. whether I adopt a dog or not I always leave something. A bag of dog food or I hand out cookies to all the dogs. I think we all wish we could save them all.
Owned by two little pastries!
REST IN PEACE GRACIE. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T MISS YOU.
My heart just sunk to the floor....it is bad enough scanning petfinder and seeing all of the dogs in need of homes, but it is even worse when you know a dog that is in the shelter.

Meet Zoey, a Collie mix. She's boarded at work a couple of times and is just the sweetest girl. She's about four years old and is a very good dog....I hope she finds a home that will acutally KEEP her. I don't know why she would have been given up. I remember walking back in the runs and seeing her and thinking, "Wow, she looks like my Chloe! She is such a pretty dog and I hope Chloe turns out half as well has she has."Poor girl.
