We just got back from the vet's office. The ultrasound showed no heart disease, which is a good thing, but the thymoma was confirmed, which is not so good.

But as Miss Hoppy is ten years old, and the only current option is surgery, there's nothing medically to be done about the tumor. Dr. Hartman, (nice lady, she's been Miss Hoppy's vet for ten years!) who said, "Well, at her age, she's sorta past her expiration date anyway," said she wouldn't want to risk Miss Hoppy not even surviving the anesthesia. She will consult with other rabbit vets, and offered me the choice of having a consult with Angel Memorial or Tufts if we wanted to go ahead with the surgery. But the surgery is major, even if she survived the anesthesia, then they'd have to crack open her chest ...

The okay news is thymomas are not very active tumors, and it could stay the same size for years.

She said, "Because of her age, you might want to do nothing, but count every day your bunny is with you as a blessing anyway."

When I told her people were praying for Miss Hoppy all over the world, Dr. Hartman said "Awwwww!"

Thanks everyone for your prayers. Miss Hoppy is glad to be home, and is munching a treat in the kitchen.
