If they're suspects, why would they allow them to leave the country??? It has taken Portugal so long to add things up here.... now they allow "suspects" to leave the country? That's odd.

They would have to arrest them to keep them there & they are not
    ready to charge anyone yet.

I don't understand why people feel sorry for the mother. If she did kill her daughter and then drag the WHOLE WORLD into, I hope she rots.

The only person I am concerned about in this whole dilemma is Madeleine.

I heard something interesting today on the news that I never heard reported before. Maybe others already know this, but I guess I haven't followed the story closely enough. It seems that her first words upon finding her daughter missing were "they've taken her." My question is "who is she referring to?" "Who is they?" These are not the first words I would expect from anyone under these circumstances.

We still don't know that the mother is guilty. While I am not 'technically' a mother yet, I can imagine that it is every mother's worst fear that something would happen to their child. Personally, I do feel bad for the parents as of now, as I can only imagine what they are going through, and I will continue to feel that way unless she is proven guilty.

What if she didn't want them and felt this was her way out? I don't know why people are so slow to doubt that the parents could be the guilty ones. It's happened plenty of times. And probably more than we know, even. I, for one, wouldn't be surprised at all.

that is exactly what Susan Smith did, she blamed an African American, had her whole entire town ready to hang the first one, then it turned out she drove the car into the lake with her 2 sons in their car seats.

Please don't turn this thread into a "lets all condemn the McCanns" - take that topic to the doghouse. Trial by media and speculation is not fair to anyone

I started this because, like all of you, I want Madeleine found alive and well and thought updates would be good.

    Thank you
