DO NOT BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE!!
You can't look directly AT the spot, you need to use your peripheral vision. Then the glowing spot appears more distinctly. It is never really STAND OUT OBVIOUS, but you see it better if you don't look straight on.
.
I've never used mine w/any success either. My 'sniffer' works every time, though.![]()

Thanks for the replies. I searched everywhere for a black lite...Petco, Pet Smart and lots of little places and none carried them. That's why I was happy when I saw it came with the Urine Gone!
I'll surely try the peripheral theory tonight.
LOL! I haven't resorted to getting on all fours for a snoot full. The smell sticks in my throat for hours when I've happend upon it unintentionally! Do you rent out your sniffer? Care to come to my house and assist? LOLMy 'sniffer' works every time, though![]()
Now I know for a fact PetCo carries them, yours may not but the one I worked at did, because I remember kids running around in the store playing with them lolOriginally Posted by kitten645
I bought Urine Gone with the little black light and the light isn't strong enough to really show the urine spots. We ended up buying a large (about 2 feet long) black light. It looks like an under the cabinet light and I carry it around to find any urine spots. It works well but it does have to be very dark in the room and sometimes I have to get just inches above the area with the light.
One problem I found is that where I have cleaned before will often reflect and look like a new spot but it's just the cleaning agents I've used shining back. I also kind of freak out at how dust will reflect the light. The first time I saw little dust particles on the curtains I thought someone has sprayed my curtains. Thanks goodness it was just dust.
I've been using Urine Gone for about a year or so now and I thought at first it was really good but now I don't think as much of it. I wish there was a really good product to totally get rid of the urine enzymes. Nature's Miracle never really worked well for me either. Anyone know of anything that works great?

Well I went to every Petco within 30 somewhat miles and none had it. I commute everyday so I hit various ones on the way home..at least 6 different ones. Anyway....
Perhaps the light isn't big enough. I'll try a bigger bulb. I wasn't sure if it was a special black lite or just the ones that were around in the 70's LOL I know Walmart has those so I'll try that.
I know what you mean about the dustI about had an attack when I checked on the bed...Thankfully no pee..just little cotton "pills" from the sheets
