What a stunning eagle he is! Wow. I'm glad he won the tug of war with the blanket! No matter how proud or strong they seem, I think everyone (animal or human) needs something soft to hold on to when they are hurt and scared. I think they should all receive a blanket for their flights to Raptor Recovery.

That is so cool! What great adventures you're having. And getting to be in that beautiful scenery. I would be taking tons of pics. Do you scrapbook? I don't know how much time you have but these would be great for one.

But the pain is very deep.

It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he'll get better! That must have been tough finding him in the bushes at an approximate mile out of town. He really, really liked his blanket, huh?

What a great experience to be able to be up close and helping such a magnificent raptor.

Thanks Phred, the cost of eagle recovry is expensive! I have a check in the mail to them. It has been amazing to be able to get so close with these birds.

dukedogsmom - I do scrap book and I can't wait to make one for all my AK adventures. I mean just today I went Kayaking in the inlet and there were harbor porpoises (kinda like small dolphins) all around us!! It's like every day is a new adventure with new pictures!!

cmayer31 - It would have been impossible to find him but thankfully the guy who reported him hit took us to where he was. He also video taped the capture!! Which I think is extremly cool, lol.

    UPDATE

I am sad to report that Nine Miles was laid to rest after they took x-rays of his wing. There was too much damage and he wouldn't of ever recovered. Poor guy. They gently put him to sleep, I'm just glad he didn't suffer next to the road for days.

    RIP Nine Miles
