I go to the opposite end of the yard. The only time I really can't avoid him is when we go for walks, and then I linger & sniff a lot while he pulls straignt ahead. He steals my toy, I steal his & play with it till he gets back. He takes my favorite spot, I find a new one. He's in my way, I stay out of his. I am old enough to know that none of these things are worth fighting over.
If what you had asked me, "Star, are you less bored?" then Yes, avoiding him gives me something to do with my time. Watching him is more interesting than watching inanimate objects. And I'm motivated to eat my food now.
If what you meant to ask was "Star, are you any happier?" then the answer is No, not really.
I miss Sherman.
