From Cinder and Smoke, via me, as he's having trouble posting:

Findlay, Ohio, IS where we hold the Labor Day SUNDAY Gathurin ...
and IS also where the Tide is running a bit high the last few days!

It's WAY TOO Early to decide if there's going to be a "water problem" at the

Findlay Dog Park on Labor Day Sunday, September 2, 2007.

Current Conditions are a little "iffy" ... but there's 10 days to dry things out!

Flood Warning
FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLEVELAND OH

THE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 AM EDT THURSDAY
FOR*HANCOCK COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST OHIO...

IN HANCOCK COUNTY... A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE
BLANCHARD RIVER AT FINDLAY.*
FLOODING CONTINUES IN THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. MANY ROADS ARE STILL FLOODED AND CLOSED. WATER LEVELS IN SOUTHERN HANCOCK COUNTY WILL BEGIN TO RECEDE THIS EVENING.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Here's the Graph of the Blanchard River at Findlay Guage Station - in the south-western corner of Findlay ...

Note the 17 FOOT Increase in river dept from 1:00 AM Monday till it crested today (Tuesday) at about 2:00 PM.

The Guage is about 6 miles west of where the Dog Park is;*the Blanchard River runs a few hundred yards to the north and the east of the Dog Park.

River Flood Records were almost set on December 2, 2006 and January 7, 2007, but those "flood crests" were 4 feet LOWER than today's crest.

Till the flood waters receed quite a bit - may take a day or two - the local roads near the Dog Park are likely to be closed or restricted ... and it will be difficult to know what the conditions are.

Absent MORE Rain in the next 10 days, I'd predict the Dog Park will more or less "dry out", and the local roads will be open by September 2nd.

Hopefully Diana & Carl (4DM) can slip over to the Park and check things out in a few days.

Mite not hurt to pack your Wubber Booties.
