Oh my gosh! I love Rotties! They are so cute! We have a lovely 200lb Rottie boy at the vets right now...he's only a boarder. I love him.

    Did I count 9 babies???

WOW - and they all look so healthy and cute!

Do Rotties normally have large litters?

200 lbs? My goodness, the poor boy. That is a mastiff sized dog. Wow. It is amazing how big they can get them to go when they start selecting for that.

Catty, I would say Rotties often have larger litters. There were 10 puppies in this litter. The last puppy was was dead at birth and had been dead in utero for probably at least 24 hours. She was very small, only 5.3 ounces, and so probably would not have survived even had she been born alive.

There are large litters behind this bitch throughout her dam's pedigree, so I expected 8 to 10 puppies from her.

All the puppies are thriving and growing. I expect eyes to open in the next several days. I am not sure who is more anxious to see the eyes open, me, or all the anxious new owners who are waiting on their new puppy to come home in mid October.

Just a question after reading your site. Why do you dock ALL of your puppies' tails? Is that really necessary?
