I have an appointment with a specialist on October 24th!
NoahsMommy - a heating pad will work to alieviate pain but only for the time I use it. I have pain 24/7.
Tylenol or Advil works for the sharp pains but just for a short period of time.

Poor thing
Have you seen those new heating pads you wear under your clothes? They have three varieties...one for back pain, one for arm/leg pain (wrap around) and one for menstrual pain. I have one on right now to alleviate my cramps. They have a sticky side that sticks to your clothes and they last for about 10 hours. They are activated by air and work great! I forget what the brand is called, but I have only found them at Target so far. I'll check when I get home and will let you know the brand.
I would really try those. They are the only way I can get out of bed during that time of month. Advil doesn't work for me either.

Great! Thanks!![]()

OK,
They are made by "Therma Care", they are in a red box and I find them in the medicine/first aid section of Target.
Let me know what you think, I really hope they can help you.

I hope you get to a solution soon. Prayers on the way!

Sorry about the pain, hope u feel better soon.
All I know about monthly pain is because my overies r rotting away as we speek (I just turned 20, it started when I was 14), my mom had it & my grandma had it. My grandma got it when she was in her mid 40's & my mom got it when she was in her early 30's & I got ti when I was in my early teens. I don't have it nearly as bad as my grandma did (she waited too long to get something done about it), & my dr. sudgested to go on birth control (when I was 16), to help control my monthlies, it's taken 4 years but I'm finally in very little pain to none. & I may have a chance to have kids now, YAY!
Maybe the birth control u r on is too strong or not stong enough & maybe u r allergic to it (my friend is, it gave her serious cramps). & the shot makes my little sister ill & bleed all the time.
When u go to ur dr. ask a few questions about the birth control ur on, it may be a small factor.
Get well soon![]()

Noah'sMommy: Thanks so much for the info on those heat pads. $7.00 for three!I'll have to make sure I use them sparingly. *laughs* Maybe Meijers sells them. I'll check it out on my next grocery run.

I know, they are expensive...I wonder if you could order them directly from the company and could get a better deal?
Do you have a desk job where you could plug a heating pad in?

Checked Meijers last night and they didn't have that specific brand but they had stuff similar to it. They had this adorable bear that you could heat up.Originally posted by NoahsMommy

I do have a desk job and the thought of plugging in a heat pad here never occured to me. Especially since sitting for long periods of time really aggravates it.
NoahsMommy, you're so smart!![]()

I'm so glad!! You can easily hide it too, if you need to with a sweater or something.
Let me know how it works!![]()

A friend of mine had this problem too. She ended up having a hysterectomy (sp?), but they didn't take her ovaries so she doesn't have to take hormone pills. She was back to normal in no time, and was even better off because she felt so much better without all the pain and bleeding.
She, too, used the hysterctomy as a last resort and tried everything conceivable to avoid it, including Chinese herbal teas and accupuncture. And of course, seeing as hindsight is always 20/20, she now wonders why she waited so long to do the hysterectomy.
I know everything will work out, especially since you have an appt with a specialist, so I just hope things ease up a little for you until then.
And I like the idea of a kitty heating pad.![]()
