Well - if she quoted what she was told - the monthly won't kick in for a month. Unless they will charge retroactively.

All I am saying is that the kennel I worked at had the same policy...and it meant, to use this case, that it was $12 a day from day 1 to day 30.

I know it is well worth fighting for, just don't know what grounds Kelly will have for that.

A double room at the kennel for my two is $20 a day...no breaks for me, even though I am still a friend and liked person there!

If you stay in a Hotel or Motel,
the "Weekly rate" applies at the beginning of the FIRST week -
    not starting on Day #8.

What an uplifting thread! Noah is one lucky cat to have so many friends here at PT!
I can only offer prayers that everything goes well...(we've run up quite the bill with Sherman's expenses & stuff, no extra $ right now...if only the darn house would sell )
    God Bless everyone on PT!

Phred - I did my darndest to look up their rates online - but they don't have a website! Nor could I find a list of prices. They just have an email addy.

I don't know how prices are regulated in CA - but I don't think they would be under the Hotel and Motel act, or whatever that legislation is called in CA. Unfortunately, they would likely have a different law for pets than people.

Here in Alberta - kennels are completely unregulated! The one I worked at tells people to go SEE any place they are thinking of FIRST.

Having worked in the motel/hotel business.... this typically would apply if the person was paying UPFRONT for the entire week!

So I am kind of thinking that if the ENTIRE month was paid in full upfront, then that would apply. I don't know if a whole month was paid at once for Noah.

I would hope that, since they realize that there are many people helping with the costs of Noah's spa stay, and that it is going to be an "extended stay", they would make an exception and only charge the $10.00/day. I know "I" would have done that when I was managing the hotel! You want to do what you can to get that return business!

I will be calling with my donation, hopefully today. I wish it could be more, but my money is limited. I will do what I can.

Sorry if this sounds nitpicky, but the kennel I used to work at did rates that way, so I just wanted to double-check.

we get that you used to work in a kennel.
I'm sure they do it very similiarly.
And I'm sure when Kel's feeling better - she'll let us know.

    Every penny counts

Since this stay for fuzz butt No No is going to be a rather long one, the best rate possible is what Kelly and friends would hope for and deserve.

I am going to try to slip a check in the mail each week, whatever I can afford, and keep him prepaid until.......? I guess Kelly will need to keep us informed as to when she's thinking about moving him to her new place.....etc. I suspect she will have more than a month's notice for that event, and thus No No's move.

I hope this fuzzy guy knows how many people are being his guardian angels....

    He is cute, isn't he?

Hope all is going smoothly for you Kelly.

Whoa...lots went on while I was praying to the makers of the heating pad! ha ha

Still feeling pretty lousy, I think I'm just having a small attack, but don't want to say that too loud as I'm currently in remission and shouldn't have attacks - large or smallish.

Anyway. Normally, this facility has you pay 1/2 up front if your critter(s) is staying for more than a week. Because I dropped Noah off in a frantic (I didn't even bring his special food, his beds, his toys, nothing!), and only assumed he'd be there for for a few days, I didn't have to pay up front.

What Ashley told me on the phone was that the price would be: Days 1 thru 30 would be $12.00, then all days after Day 30, would be $10.00. I WILL ask about a long-term discount. Its only benefitting THEM, they ALWAYS have kitty condos open, now they at least are making money on Noah each day...when they would normally make nothing.

As her Helene, Noah is paid up until September 18th!!

Isn't that great??? Thank you all so very, very much!!!

    Hugs & Love,
    Kelly and Noah

    XOXOXOXOXO

P.S. Did I miss anyone's questions?? If I did, I'm so sorry, will you remind me of them?
