On some you can tell the difference. On others they look too a like. We will be switching their ribbon collars for real collars when they turn 3 weeks old.Originally Posted by sandragonfly

When I saw the title of this I KNEW it would be maximum cuteness! Nicole, how long does it take baby puppies until they are really secure on their feet? Remind me again, please, what they are eating now. And I know this might be a gross question so I apologize in advance (I'm a nurse) - how do two week old puppies manage their wastes? Does Sheena have to teach them how to ... uhmmm... go? Has this been covered somewhere in a previous thread? You can write the post-birth addendum to that Web site that told us what to expect during each week of pregnancy. (chuckle! these little guys are so cute, I'll have to tell my co-workers about them!)

WOW loads of questions. Good thing I have time today to answer them. lol Everyone is sacked out right now here.Originally Posted by cassiesmom
Usually they are about 3-3 1/2 weeks old when they are more confident on their feet. 4 weeks and older for them to really be running around.
They are still on moms milk only. Later this week we will be adding a tub of water for them to attempt to drink from but most will just play in it. They will not be started on really food till 3 1/2 weeks of age. And then it is only one meal and then slowly increasing it from there. They will be getting Innova Adult Kibble warmed and soaked in water when they are started on food.
Right now mom mainly stimulates them, though they are starting to go on their own. Mainly on teh carpet since they can get traction there. Don't worry the carpet is cleaned daily and will be changed at the end of the week. We are buying bathtub sticky's to put on the lino to help them get more traction on it and then cutting up newspaper and putting that in the lino section. This is the area they will learn to go. All this will be happening this weekend. The new carpet that we then put down, with a divider seperating the lino and carpet areas, will then become their sleep area and they will then start to learn where to go. Sheena for now though does all teh clean up and she is doing a great job.
I hope I covered all your questions. If you have any more please let me know.
