Oh boy, that's scary when a cat w/that type of disposition at the vet's doesn't do what he normally does. Sounds like my Puddy and when my vet calls about her, he wants to hear that she has hissed and growled, etc. If they don't give him that report, he knows something's wrong. So I can relate to what you're saying. But you know that my Puddy has bounced back so many times and Chestnut can, too. We're all praying for him and you, too. Keep us posted.

The vet said they are very efficient little bodies and, not moving about, he doesn't need to take in much. The whole body just slows down.
The vet would like her just about 8 pounds, is what she said this morning.
