Oh no, I do hope Chestnut get better, he's such a gorgeous boy.
Keeping fingers and paws crossed that the vet visit will sort it out.

This made me smile, as Chestnut is anythng BUT little, he he.Originally Posted by Trinityagain
He has quite the fever, they were concerned about it and gave him subq fluids to try and get that down. Also took blood sample, will have results tomorrow.
Chestnut is marked as a "caution." When we went for his annual in June, we could not weigh him; the vet could barely do the physical exam. The vet tech was wearing the thick gloves which go up to the elbows. Chestnut was a hissing, spitting, biting, clawing maniac. It took 4 of us to keep him on the exam table. In other words, he was his normal self at the vet's.
Today, he sagged on the exam table. All on her own, the vet tech got him weighed --13.6 pounds, same as May of 2006. Vet tech -- again with no help -- got his temp with the rectal thermometer. The vet did a thorough exam. Once in a while he would glance at what was happening, that was his only reaction! Only took one tech to give him the fluids and get his blood. So he is clearly not himself.
The vet said his bladder and colon are full. With 8 litter boxes with hoods in 4 different rooms, it is not easy to tell if he is using them or not.
I was to get some baby food for him and try that and the a/d prescription canned food. But when we got home, Ruffles needed her a/d and he ate some of that, so I will hold off on the baby food. At least he ate something!
Just have to wait for the blood work as nothing showed up in the exam except that he is not himself at all.
Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts!

It is so heart wrenching when they are not themselves because we all know just how fragile they are. I hope the news will be good tomorrow and will wait for a update.... Please post soon as you hear something.

I am so sorry that poor (and yes, widdle) Chestnut is not feeling himself. Sounds like he was such a good boy at the vet.... but clearly that was because he was not feeling well.
Many prayers coming from me and the girls in Indiana for good results tomorrow..... come on Chestnut.... EAT!
Too many furbabies have lost their appetite lately. :::sigh::: if only I could lose mine, and then Sasha would slow down some also!. :::sigh:::![]()
