I like the others really dont know what to say. I feel awful for you I cant imagine what this is doing to you and your hubby. You are in my thoughts and prayers every single day. I was thinking about you last night before I went to sleep. We might not all know each other here on PT but I feel like everyones fur kids are like my own, I love them and its heartbreaking when things like this happen. (((Hugs)))

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

The cytology report is back. No signs of fungus or bacteria... it is a very aggressive lung cancer that is spreading rapidly. It's unusual to see it in such a young dog. There is nothing more they can do.

This is not a light nor quick decision. So please, no critisism.

There is no point putting this off until he is so racked with pain he can't stand it. As much as this hurts, putting it off for a few more days would be rather selfish on our part.

We are ready. Our wonderful RB girl Rosie, is here to led Sherman to the Rainbow Bridge. (I felt she was here, and Nancy saw her.) Goofy girl, she's SO happy & excited, so happy to please us. Nancy says her little tail is wagging non stop )

Sherman is preparing himself. She could feel the heaviness & discomfort in his chest. He's ready. He will be on his way to the Rainbow Bridge later this evening.

I keep thinking of the line from Little Big Man,
"Today is a good day to die".
    And so it is.

I'm so very sorry. Those of us that have been down this road know how difficult this is. My heart is breaking for you all. I'm glad that your RB dog Rosie is there to make sure his passing is a smooth one. I hope my angels I loaned him will calm him, and you, also. Animals are so special and this is part of the risk we take when letting them into our hearts. But the grief doesn't outweigh the happiness and joy they give to our lives. Your Sherman is a very special gift that God gave you. It's time for him to be called to his final home, where he will play without pain, always remembering the love of his family. The day we're reunited will be a happy one, indeed. I know from experience that nothing can take away the pain but I hope all of our words can bring you comfort, if even for a few brief moments.
    Written through many tears,
    Val

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
