Oh my zippy Did you ask your "Mommy" if you could get one????
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I'm not a tattoo person by any means! I don't hold it against anyone who wants them, but I just have to wonder about a few things. First, what if you want to wear something really dressy and classy and it has a low neck or back? I just wouldn't want my tattoo to show with everything I wore. Second, what are they going to look like when you are old shriveled up old ladies? Can you imagine being 80 or 90 with tattoos? I just wouldn't want something that was so permanent, in case I outgrew the phase.

I totally understand where you are coming from, tattoos aren't for everyone. But as for me, I would actually like it to show when wearing a low cut back on a dress, I think they look hot that way, and as for when I am old and wrinkled...well, at least my wrinkles will have some style to them, lol, heheh

When your that old your wrinkles will cover them up by overlapping them so you can't see them. I was thinking about it the other day though and I've never seen someone that old with a tattoo.

I agree with others,I wouldn't get something I wouldn't want to show off. If I did I would get it in a spot that could be hidden.

I have 3 right now, but will be getting at least a few more.

This one I got 11 years ago, the pic was taken right after I got it. It is on my upper arm.

This one I got about 4 years ago, it is on my right Shoulder blade. Hubby and I both got Dragons on our backs.

This one I got Last year for my Birthday, it is on my upper thigh.

and here are my hubbys two dragons on his back.

I've seen old and wrinkled people with tattoos. Naked. At the nudist resort I worked at when I was 18. It was NOT pretty. In fact most of the people who went there you wanted to scream "Put it back on!!!".

I know where you're coming from. I don't mind people who have tattoos, but I would never want to have doodles all over myself. If I wanted to wear something really classy, or a dress for a/my wedding, I just think a stonking great tattoo would spoil the effect. I've also never seen anyone in a top profession with too many tattoos and piercings. And sometimes a lot of people I see with tattoos on limbs especially seem to have really inflamed looking skin around it, even after they've had it for a couple of months. Still, I don't mind people having their choices in life.

I'm too much of a wuss to get a tattoo ... I'm not sure theres anything that i'd get now that i'd still be happy with 10 years down the road. At least with my piercings, if i get bored of them i can take them out, but with a tattoo its a different story.

I'm going to live vicariously through my sister instead -- she goes for 'appointments' every 2 weeks (read: more tattooing). Shes been getting tattoos since she was 16 -- the pictures i've included are all the visible ones at least. I've been joking with her, that I'm going to start investing in stocks in tattoo removal companies just because of her

Heres some pictures from a wedding she went to a couple weekends ago and her BF.

Wow your sister has some amazing tattoo's,

I love the tree/branches affect on her left arm and the ravens on her chest.

I REALLY want a small raven tattoo but I'm scared of the pain lol.

Just woundering anyone know how much a tattoo hurts and whats the feeling?

Great tattoos everyone, keep them coming!!

It depends on where you are getting the tattoo to depend on how much it hurts. Boney areas, and areas where there is thinner skin, hurts more, in my opinion. My husband got his on the muscular part of his leg and said it was tolerable. Mine on my back, hurt a lot...not a fatty area...lots of bone...so it was pretty painful, and while I was getting it done, I said "no more"...but I will get more....I can't wait, they are addictive!! I think it feels like taking a sharp pointy needle and scratching it over and over and over again in the same spot (and after it is all over, it kinda feels like sun burn...just tender skin, but that doesn't last long..a day or so)...but in the end, the artwork is so beautiful, that is was worth the pain, IMO.

She gets all her tattooing done somewhere downtown Toronto, and has been going to the same guy for a long time.

She says that the most painful place that shes had tattoo'd is her stomach - that it hurt like nuts. The chest hurt slightly less than that. Everywhere else was ok aparently.

That's why mine is where it is... on my toe. I can reveal it (sandals) or easily cover it up (dark hose, non-open toed shoes). I also picked a spot that doesn't fluctuate easily with weight gain or loss.... or age for that matter.
