    Anyone know how to get a dog that hates having anything done to him and is like a wild indian when you try to do it, to lay still so we can put ointment in his eye??? we have tried everything we know and the vet suggest except for muzzling him and nothing is working!!!! I hate to muzzle him but I may not have a choice, he bites constantly and is so strong!!!!!!

    As hard as it may be on you, muzzle him. It's only for a short time just so you can get the ointment in his eye. You are helping him, not being mean to him.
    You will all be in my thoughts.
    Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

    Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    I'm sorry to hear you're having so many problems while awaiting Reillys surgery. The day is almost here. Hopefully his eye will be all fixed up and he can go back to day care soon.

    Aw, Reilly, mom and dad are trying to help you and get that eye to feel better; or at least not as bad. Ease up on them, you are a BIG boy, I know you can do it.

    Prayers for you and Reilly. Let us know as things develop!

    Good luck with surgery tomorrow, sweet Reilly! I'm sure you'll be fine, but we'll be thinking of you and mommy tomorrow anyways.

    GA = General Anesthetic.

    I know the surgery is tomorrow - but if he is bouncing off the walls, is he allowed into your yard where he can run off steam?

    Thank you all so much, I just picked up his bowl at 9pm, and daddy and I gave him a bunch of treats before then. No more food until after surgery. Im starting to get pretty nervous, I know he will be fine, but you just never know. Look at poor Sherman!!, please dont mistake me, there situations are nothing alike, but it just breaks my heart, that is how I lost Mousse, it was so unexpected and sudden, one day he was healthy and happy and having all kinds of fun, and the next he was so sick he could barely hold his head up. So please just say lots of prayers, I never thought Reilly would mean so much to me, he has filled so many voids left in my life and my heart, he takes care of so many things for me.
    Catty, we have been running him outside, and taking him for extra walks and just sitting outside and letting him run around on a lead for a while, just so he is not so cooped up. I told my husband...lol as bad as it gets for us, it is worse for him...lol we can leave...lol I went and relucantly bought a muzzle this afternoon, I called the vet and even he said I needed to get one just to be able to give him his eye meds. I know we are not doing it to be cruel to him, I just hate them.
    Well thanks again to all of you for the prayers and kind words, I promise as soon as I know how he did, I will post on here, and later this week I will post some new pics of him.

    Yay! I'm thrilled to hear that everything went well. Hopefully he's home and resting comfortably with you.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!
