No kidding! Our landlord just got new Pella windows put in our house. I always thought those were supposed to be good windows and I was looking forward to being able to open windows again when it got hot out.(our old screens/windows were shot) So they install the things and most of the screens are useless for people with pets or kids! The ones in the upstairs are the worst having only two small 'pins' that keep the screen from falling out, and the downstairs windows are only slightly better, but all of them install from the outside, meaning that if someone or some kitty, pushes on them a bit they fall OUTSIDE. My old beat up screens at least fit into a track that was firmly in place! So while I can now have no winter drafts, can keep the heat of the summer out better, and can clean all my windows from the inside, I cannot trust these screens with my cats unless I am home to watch them. Even after all this installation stuff, I STILL can't leave windows open for my kitties when I'm gone and that ticks me off! Heck they don't even fit tight enough to keep those gnats and noseeums out! Pella windows might be good, but their screens stink!

The screens on our windows fit well and are installed from the inside, but they aren't woven small enough to keep out tiny bugs. If I have the window open and the light on at night the bugs swarm all over. I have to vacuum them all off my ceiling before I can go to sleep. I also get these little black beetles who like the carpet in my room and invite themselves right in through the screen.

Yes we do! EVERY window that can be opened, does have a screen! And also both doors that lead to the garden

on this pic you can see it: the glass door is open, but the screen is still closed! Little Snoops wants to join Zazou on the patio

screens on all the windows. these windows are 15 years old, they slide up and down on the outside tracks and are strong enough to keep the cats inside. i'm planning on buying a new side door, with screens on it to inprove the kitchen ventilation later this summer.
