I'm afraid the end is very near. Mishi is nothing but fur and bones and barely moves from the bed except to eat a little. I have a glass of water for him on the nightstand which he loves. Now he doesn't have to try and squeeze his head into MY glass and make a mess.

I had to move his litterbox into the bedroom because he had started peeing on the bed; now he's using the litterbox again, but it's obvious that I'll have to take him for his last sleep probably sometime this week. He's so frail and I can tell he's not enjoying life.

He and I have "talked" and he knows it's okay for him to leave. I'm sad to lose my golden buddy and feel privileged to have had the honor of being his guardian for the past four years.

Georgia, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how much he means to you and I'm sure that he loves you as much as you love him. I hope that you can make him as comfortable as possible in the time that you have left together. Please give him some kisses and scritches for me. It is the ultimate act of love to give the final release. It was the hardest think I have ever done to let Nakita go, but she was in the same state. I couldn't watch her suffer for my needs to keep her with me.
