As has been mentioned countless other times, things happen in people's lives which make things rough for a while financially. Don't judge someone in a tight financial spot unless you've been there yourself.

If she's better now I wouldnt worry about it, but if it continues or comes back I would find a vet that will give you a plan. It could be a myriad of things -- dysplasia, luxating patella, torn tendon, arthritis, fracture, pulled muscle, broken nail, broken toe, speargrass in the paw, etc etc. Only a vet can tell for sure.

Thank you LH. I haven't been on this board as much as I used to for medical reasons. In the time I do spend on this board, I am really appalled at some of the rude remarks that some of our members are making to innocent people just asking for advice. It is out of control lately. Most of these comments are totally uncalled for. I hope it comes to an end soon.

C'mon people, lighten up. How would you like to be treated like this if just asking a question about one of your pets? Stop assuming that these people are bad or up to no good. Everyone deserves a polite response and a kind word if they've done nothing wrong.

Try to walk a mile in someone elses shoes. Just because you have no worries right now doesn't mean you never will. Have some compassion for others. Sorry I got off topic.

You know what. You can all stop teling me I shouldn't have my dog. He's very healthy. I'm crying right now because of you people. Here is a pic but it's not the greatest. I had to print it then scan it and printer is out of ink.

Just a suggestion... if your dog was limping after being run by the puppy sitter, you should tell that person - no more running. Also you should keep the dog relatively calm for a week or two to see if that helps. That doesn't mean confining it, but rather engage in short walks rather than have it chase things. If puppy dog starts limping again in the near term, it sounds like with your cousin a Vet, you should be able to hit on said cousin for treatment.

Luxating patella came to mind.
Sierra has a luxating patella and only bothers her once in a great while (maybe twice a month) and when it does she'll yelp and not put any weight on it then she'll snap her leg backwards (to pop it back in) and she's perfect again!! The next time you visit your vet, for shots and whatever, you should mention it to them, they can move the knee cap around and see if it seems loose to them. It's much more common in small breed dogs, but any dog can have it.

What does your dog do before he starts limping? Does he run, play or does he sleep? Does he yelp whenever he is limping?
My suggestion would be go to the vet. Try getting him to rest whenever he is limping. I hope this helps! Good luck and keep us updated!

hey,first off I am not here to judge.
second after reading your post I agree with pitc9,a luxating patella also comes to mind...2 of our babies had this and 'Jakey' especially when his popped out limped around and couldnt put any weight on until he 'popped' it back again...His wasnt so bad for the vet to suggest or offer surgery cause it only happened once in a while,Christies(our little girls) however was more severe and she had both her back knees done....
my advice?.....keep an eye on it,and if it happens again or your baby is in any discomfort/distress find a way for your baby to seen by a vet...they might just give you 'metacam' an anti-inflamatory drop which does work wonders on mild cases...
Lastly be empowered,if you feel your baby does need a vet,find a way dont let anything stand in your way of giving your all and being the best you can.

Hi horse_lover, how's your dog doing now? I see in your profile you are 13. I'm sure it's frustrating to try solving a problem like this when you are limited in what you can do about it. Was your cousin able to give you any advice? I have a friend who does equine massage, and she showed me how to massage my dogs too. It seems to help my older dog when she gets a little stiff. That might be something that would help your dog too. Also, check his paws just to be sure he doesnt just have a pebble stuck in his paw. I've seen mine start to limp and it turns out they have an ice ball or piece of salt stuck. That's an easy fix! As others mentioned, try to get her seen if the problem continues. Good luck with it.

He's fine now. He didn't yelp when he limped. He's been walking around and plays. I think that it was just because my neighbor ran him non stop and then put him back inside. Thanks for all your help. He hasn't limped in 2 days.

Yeah, he hasn't limped since! I do think it was because of my neighbor who ran him. But he's fine now! THanks for all your help. At least the poeple who weren't telling me I shouldn't have him!
