ooohkay, I remember this now...you have posted about it in General - I didn't make the connection! Sorry!

I recall you saying then that you might be able to do your last year of school there and stay at your aunt's?

I would think your family should be ok with you having some time to yourself. Is your aunt in pretty good shape health-wise?

On the other hand - you might feel a lot better after the move. Either way - I hope you can go to see a counsellor at the school; I am sure you don't need a parent's permission for that (I never did ).

My prayers that everything works out the way it is supposed to - it will.

    *hugs*

    Thank you

The lady my dad took the cat from is not MY aunt its my dad's. So she's my great aunt, and she is not in good shape, she needs to be in a nursing home.

I would be staying with my aunt and uncle, my dad's brother. I've talked to my parents about this and they refuse to let me stay here. They said I have to try living in Arizona for a year and then we will see after that. I'm saving all my money from work this summer, and selling my horse so I can come back often to see my family, friends, and boyfriend. I don't know if the dogs are comming with yet. My grandpa's dog was hit by a car 3 weeks ago, and now he wants to keep Maggie and Autumn. I really don't want to leave them behind, but my grandpa loves them dearly (he lives with us, but is not moving) and he wants to keep them here. A part of me wants to let them stay here, because when we move they would have to be locked up a lot when we aren't home, right now, the are NEVER locked up because someone is always here. But I love them so much and I don't want to leave them here either. I'm so confused on what to do with them.

ugg.. this is so stressfull. . i'm definently going to the school counsilor once school starts..

Also... I went to Grand Forks today, but unfortunatly it was with my dad. I asked to go look for no-name but he refused. He did dump him in the trailer court by the interstate, I know that.

I asked him why he dumped him and he said, "well, I was gonna shoot him but I decided to just dump him and give him a chance to find a different home."

Unfortunately, this is the attitude that a lot of farmer/country people have. To many, it's an animal, not a pet.

I grew up on a 100acre farm in the Pocono Mtns. here in PA, and thank god my father was not like that. He wanted to be a vet growing up, but quit school in order to keep the farm running and had to get a FT job to help support the family. So, even though he was a farmer, he still cared a lot about the pets and wasn't the typical Dutchman. My great grandmother, on the other hand, was a harsh harsh woman. My dad said he remembers when HIS hound dog didn't do what she wanted it to do, and wasn't hunting the way it was supposed to, she just shot it right there in front of him.

My father has always been a softy and if thinks there's a stray cat or dog outside of our house on the farm, he puts out bowls of food for it every day. My mother said she thinks at one point he was feeding groundhogs, raccoons and opossums, lol. He doesn't even go hunting anymore, and we only ever used the deer etc... for food, he never did it for sport. He hates when I tell rescue animal stories, he will just break down and cry over abused and neglected animals. If he and I were the ones who were living on the farm, and my mom wasn't around, I think we'd have tons of animals, lol.

Farming and people growing up from back then can have some real different attitudes from the way we do now, or like I said, even eachother. Some younger farmers still view animals as animals and do not get attached. Sad but that's the way it is.

I do hope your dad gets help for whatever it is that is bothering him... although I doubt he sounds like the kind who will go in and sit down and talk about his feelings to anyone, lol. Too emotional of a thing to do.. shows vulnerability.

I do hope things improve. What is the age of consent to be considered an adult in your state?? Maybe you could actually, on your own, petition to stay back for your (last??) year of highschool? If 16 or 17 is considered an adult, you can get court documents that will allow you to do that. That would bypass dad and all you would need would be a place to stay(like the aunt and uncle's place). Check it out. It might make your dad upset, and I have no idea how old you are (I saw your pics in one of the other threads and thought you were a college kid... so many kids look so much older than they are these days!!), but it's a thought.

I'm 15, going on 18 like my dad always says . Yes, I know, I'm younger. I can not emancipate until I am 16, and that is 6 months away, also I have to have my parents consent, they need to say in court that I can care for myself and all that. Neither of my parents would EVER agree to this, it is pretty much out of the question. I told my dad I wanted to change my guardianship over to someone else, and he just laughed and said that I couldn't. . . I don't know what else I can do about this. .
