My sister has 2 pugs. She can't keep up with the shedding no matter how much she brushes them. It's part of owning a pug.

Taking him/her to the groomers would help they use a blow drying which blows out all the dead undercoat which causes most of the shedding. Being as Pugs are heavy shedders it probly won't stop te problem for long but if you keep up with daily brushing it should help ALOT. You could also get a furminator which would work well on a Pug coat but I don't know if someone your age should be trusted to use one as you can hurt the dog with it.

Well, i know that they are heavy shedders but when she got thoes shots it made it worse. And it was already bad because it was and now is summer. My mom said that we are going to try Purina One when we go to Wal-Mart tonight.

Just make sure you switch gradually and not all at once, you don't want Reggie to get diarreah.
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!

Wow, I learned something from this thread. I had no idea that Pugs shed
a lot. I though GSD/Huskies were the worst shedders.

p.s. I agree on the Purina One is a good food.

Pugs shed so much! When we get them in at a work I spend quite a bit of time brushing them!

    What brush do you use?

I would agree your food is probably the problem too. Purina makes very low end pet food and contains horrible ingredients. My Wal-Mart just picked up a new line of refrigerated dog food called Homestyle Select. I have been very satisfied with it. My Shih Tzu had really dry hair and dry skin on her belly. After I switch my food there was a clear difference. I’m not sure if it will stop shedding, but I would recommend giving this food a try.
